We are women who choose to support other women during pregnancy, labour, and the post-partum period, driven by the firm conviction that every woman deserves to experience motherhood with respect, support, and a loving environment. We believe that female networks surrounding such vital periods as motherhood are necessary to nourish and protect our experience.
What is our compromise?

* Share basic training on pregnancy, physiological birth, post-natal care, and psychophysical and emotional support for the new mother. Our main referents and teachers have been the obstetrician Michel Odent and the Family Psychotherapist Laura Gutman. We actively and constantly continue our training and professional development with specialist in all matter concerning motherhood and natural wellbeing, as well as any subject of particular interest for each of us that might contribute to the development of the necessary attitudes to best accompany women through motherhood.
* We share some fundamental principles on motherhood:
• The pressing and urgent need for a real acknowledgement of a pregnant woman, a woman in labour or going through the puerperium as a woman experiencing a vital event in her existence and of profound value for her entire community
• The fundamental right of every woman to be fully informed on the process of pregnancy and childbirth, and to be respected for her personal choices on the matter.
• That besides the medical aspects, the social, emotional and psychological factors are a key aspect in deciding the adequate support for women facing motherhood.
* We share a common vision on childbirth and motherhood: we believe it is of paramount importance to listen to and respect the WHO recommendations on the adequate care during pregnancy and childbirth published in 1985 (Appropriate technology for Birth, Fortaleza Declaration, 1985).
